Kim Reed joined the College of Western Idaho in 2011 as Director of Library Services. In 2019, she became director over Tutoring Services as well, launching CWI's Learning Commons. The Learning Commons at CWI is a collaborative partnership between the Library and Tutoring with the goal of expanding the ability of each to support student success. Kim greatly enjoys her role supporting the work of these two departments, both of which are critically important to students' ability to successfully master course content and complete assignments.

Originally from New Jersey, Kim has previously worked at Lafayette College, The University of Arizona, the College of Idaho, Ada Community Library, and Boise State University. Kim is proud to have been recognized by two prestigious programs in the field of librarianship as an ALA Emerging Leader (2008) and a Library Journal Mover & Shaker (2011), and to have been trained in the Harvard Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians. In her free time Kim enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and exploring Idaho's amazing landscapes on foot, skis, and paddleboard.
